Arkadelphia-based Patterson Federal Credit Union says it’s planning to open a branch location this summer in Glenwood.
CEO Shawn Cowart is a native of the area, having graduated from Centerpoint High School in 1998.
In a press release, he said, “Glenwood has always been home to a wonderful community, and we are excited to build the same strong connections here as we have at our home branch in Arkadelpha.”
According to its website, the credit union was chartered in 1957 to serve employees of Reynolds Metal Company who worked in Gum Springs.
In 2007, the National Credit Union Administration approved Patterson’s application for a community charter, allowing it to serve anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Clark County.
Last year the charter was expanded to include Dallas, Hot Spring, Montgomery, Nevada, Ouachita and Pike counties.
